Special analysis, reports, and background for gamers, role-playing generals, and single-player players Experts understand what’s happening in the game. Your benefits:
The game was created by Darksiders creator Joe Madureira and revolves around Gully, the main character Gully who is determined to locate her missing father in the continent that is a mystery to The Grey Line.
The connection with the Battle Chasers comics from the 90s may only scratch a few. What makes Nightwear so unique is the combination of thrilling exploring dungeons and the old-school turn-based combat from classic JPRGs.
Another fight to win!
The tactical battles in the eight dungeons take up most of the game’s duration; However, they’re still fun even after 30 hours.
One reason is that Battle Chasers does away with frustrating random battles since the enemies can be seen on the map and in the crypts. Another reason is that the battle system can manage the balance between simplicity and accessibility.
In time we can unlock new capabilities and super-attacks through level-ups. Every move costs mana that is replenished with potions or rest stops of small size in the village. So far, so ordinary.
The most exciting aspect of Battle Chasers is the power system. Certain attacks allow us to accumulate power reserves to replenish mana and strengthen specific attacks.
Therefore, we’re constantly facing whether to take the adversaries full of twelve and burn our mana immediately or boost our reserves and end the game with a brute finisher.
Due to the multi-faceted combat system, we soon become addicted and continue to encounter new foes to take on “just one more battle.” Afterward, when we check the time and see that the time is flying by so quickly …
Ideal for those who travel.
The turn-based battles were created to be played on the Nintendo Switch. The pauses make it okay if we’re not watching for a second on the train. There’s a little puzzle here and a battle, so Battle Chasers can also be taken in bites.
The ability to navigate through the dungeons and on the overworld map is well using the Joy-Con. The game’s immersion is better when compared to PS4 or Xbox One, thanks to the HD Rumble function, as the rumble during attacks is supported by a buzzing sound effect.
The game also displays its best features visually. Various textures, a stylish lighting atmosphere, and a distinct drawing style make Battle Chasers an eye-catcher, especially because everything is beautiful and sharp on the tiny Switch display.
There’s the potential for performance improvements, however. Although we’re pleased with speedy load times, it may be slowdowns in places with many opponents. When fighting, it is not uncommon to experience massive reload jerks. However, these are within an acceptable range. An update could fix this issue shortly.
The Switch version does not come with extra features. The Amiibo figures, as well as the touchscreen, aren’t supported either. Those who have already played the game won’t find anything new in this version. But, those who have long waited for the mobile version are sure to be satisfied. Battle Chasers Nightwar is stunning on the Nintendo console.
